Pepsi Proper, Pepsi’s multi-city specialty retail pop-up tour, is planting its flag in New York City tomorrow Saturday December 12th, 2008. Building off of the success of last week’s event in Los Angeles that featured retail heavyweight Union Los Angeles and hip-hop super group The Clipse, the tour’s New York City stop this Saturday is packed with a stellar list of brands and ultra-exclusive retail giants. From a brand and retail perspective, Absurd, Commonwealth, Cubannie Links, Fruition, Hellz, Orchard Street, Rockport Established 1971, Violette, SSUR and Staple are all on board. Providing the entertainment, musical acts will include DJ Neil Armstrong (Jay-Z’s official tour DJ), DJ Mick Boogie, DJ Jus Ske, DJ Eleven and DJ Eli Escobar. As mentioned the event takes place tomorrow Saturday, December 20th at the Open House from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm for the pop-up store while the musical acts will take stage between 9:00 pm and 12:00 am (ages 21 and up).

Denim Demon Spring/Summer 2009 Collection

Sweden’s Denim Demon takes two avenues of inspiration to arrive at a single point for their Spring/Summer 2009 collection. A passion for authentic workwear and denim is fused with an interest in native “Sami” culture. Key product from the collection includes a denim Kolt, which essentially mixes classic workwear materials with a traditional “Sami” garment. On the denim side, Denim Demon has produced the Ren-on-hide, a 15.5 oz unsanforized denim complete with reindeer hide patch. The jeans are based on a 1930s Lee cut with green, white and blue narrow selvedge. The colors (green, white and blue) follow “Sami” culture and are a constant in the collection. The Kolt and Ren-on-hide denim is complemented by a denim shirt and jacket and a new flannel shirt. Oi Polloi will be among the fine retailers to stock the collection.

L.A. Gear 2008 Fall/Winter Collection

Following up on their announcement earlier this year, Los Angeles-based indie retailer Sportie LA has teamed up with L.A. Gear to bring back the popular ’90’s footwear label. Utilizing a collection of original models, the kicks were revamped with a new selection of materials and color choices while still retaining a nostalgic fashion quality. Their 2008 fall/winter lineup is now available exclusively through the Sportie LA online store as well as in their flagship locations.

The Hundreds x Disney - The Lost Boys

The Hundreds has been working on with Disney for over a year now and finally we have some updated information around the collaboration project, product information, and when and where it will be released. The Hundreds were asked to work with Disney on a special apparel collaboration project, and immediately Bobby and Ben were drawn to the Lost Boys from Peter Pan, who more or less are a representation of what The Hundreds and their consumers stand for. After a year and some change of drafting, editing, and drawing up the characters, The Hundreds x Disney “Lost Boys” collaboration apparel project will finally come to life when it is released on Thursday, December 11th at THLA and THSF as well as Premium Goods (Houston, TX), The Reed Space (New York, NY), Palace 5ive (Washington D.C.), and Shoe Gallery (Miami, Florida). Each of the Lost Boys gets their own t-shirt in a special colorway for that character as well as Black, additionally there is a t-shirt of the entire group of Lost Boys, a Tens Tinkerbell t-shirt, and Peter Pan and Captain Hook New Era collaboration 59Fifty fitted caps. Make sure you line up early for this collaboration as each t-shirt is limited to 200 pieces per colorway in the world whereas The Tens t-shirt is even more limited, 100 pieces, and each of the New Era fitteds are also limited to 100. Reason Clothing Store - NYC Outpost

Reason Clothing has come a long way since 2004 when they just produced hand-drawn t-shirts. Slowly, since their inception, they were been able to get their apparel into an impressive list of shops. Now Reason has finally decided to ambitiously embark on the endeavor of opening their own, brick and mortar store, which will be located in the heart of Manhattan’s East Village.

Even though the times are pretty tough right now, “Phillip Bassis and Jonathan Price [of Reason] are optimistic, citing that their customers are…’loyal to REASON and have been pleading with us to open up our own shop for years’”. The store will be home to Reason’s own collection as well as an exclusive house line of various items including t-shirts, hats and woven apparel.
