International Stussy Tribe Varsity Jacket

Once one of the most heavily sought items for its exclusive nature, Stussy is releasing a commercial version of its famed International Stussy Tribe Varsity Jacket. Although the act of retailing sort of cheapens what the jacket had come to represent, the jacket never the less is quite nice with a black body and white leather sleeves. A little splash of color is seen with Rasta colored highlights on the cuffs and back logo. Two other unshown colors will also release in red/white and green/white. Buying cool doesn’t come cheap with these tipping the scales at ¥71,400 JPY (approximately $724 USD).

Uniform Experiment Varsity Jacket

The classic Varsity Jacket is still today one of the best multi-season jackets out there. These days the issue usually is, that brands try to do too much with it, adding patches, embroideries and other things to it.

Japanese brand Uniform Experiment did it right, kept the jacket simple and concentrated on getting the materials right. The outcome is a Melton wool body and premium leather sleeves, with minimal logo embroideries that come tonal. They adjusted the fit of the jacket and made it slightly slimmer than the original. The jacket comes in two colorways and is now available at Ark.

UNIQLO Heat Tech Innerwear Giveaway

The Japanese is always so innovative and interesting, The Cut gives us the scoop that UNIQLO is promoting its new Heat Tech innerwear by giving it away for free in Military Island, Times Square (Broadway and Seventh Avenue, between 43rd and 44th Streets) next month on Tuesday, November 18th at 1pm. The picture above is a rendering of how they will be distributing it via a “giant human vending machine”. There will be a limited number to giveaway, 1000 to be exact and its a one size fits all kinda deal- which “should fit your average body type.”

The picture doesn’t really explain what a “giant human vending machine” is but UNIQLO says, “Basically we’re going to have two mimes. A male and a female mime inside the machine. And the public can see them through glass. When you get there, we’re going to have Uniqlo reps dressed in the silver bodysuits. And they’re going to hold a thermograph scanner — think of an airport security machine. The thermographer identifies cold spots in your body. After you go through that, you go to the vending machine and push a button and the mimes are going to do a synchronized choreographed routine and then your outfit comes out.”

The brown/green/orange colorway is our favorite, but the blue/white and black/yellow/grey colorways are also really strong. Premium leathers mixed with suede on the upper make for an overall solid look.
